Fun & games!

OK, so I'm a bit behind on my blogging, and the last two layouts in "My Freedom"-class. But here's goes:
Todays blog promt from Shimelle:
"Tell your blog readers about your favourite game."

I love games! Particularly boardgames. Sadly, my husband dosen't so I don't get to play games all that much. In my childhood we used to play cards, Ludo, Ming, and a lot of other games.
These days I really like:

Memory games:
I bought this game from Little Tikes for one of my nephews, and had to buy one for myself too... :-) It so cute! Small animals hide under haystacks :-)
(We actually used this game to settle an argument about our sons last name, he got to choose himselt, a brown bunny for my last name, and a grey for daddys last name. He took mine! :-)
Cardgames:
I love playing cards, mostly "casino", "solitaire" and "idiot".

Mancala (also known as Kalaha):
I have a small version of this one, with small, pretty, colourful stones. It's an ancient game, yet perfect companion for a cup of hot chocolate with cream or a good cup of tea in a café with a good friend.

Check out this site for rules, it's really a great game! Seems simple, but the more you play, the more challenging it gets.

Of computergames:
I really enjoy Flåklypa Grand Prix and Diablo II, as different games as you can find! *LOL*
Flåkypa Grand Prix is a cute game for the entire family

Diablo II is good for those days you just feel like... slaying a demon... or something...

We also have a Playstation:
and my favourite games are
Harry Potter 1-5

Barnyard, teasing the postman and shooting milk!

Inspiration and aspiration...

This weeks topics from Shimelle, is inspiration and aspiration. Here’s my list:

Inspiration:
My head is buzzing with ideas most of the time, but I never really stop to think what inspires me... (I had an awful period when I was pregnant, and ‘till my son was 3 months old, I got nothing! No ideas, no urge to scrap or make cards, no energy at all. It felt like I was missing a big piece of myself. I was so relived when I suddenly wanted to scrap EVERYTHING again! *LOL*)
When I scrap, I want to tell a story, capture a moment of time, and keep some of my thoughts and values on paper for my son.
As a nurse, I know very well, that life is fragile, and some things I just want to document. If there should come a time, be it 5-10 (knock on wood) or 50 years from now that I can’t tell him myself, at least my son can read about my love for him, what we did before he was born, what he did as a baby and other stuff that’s important to me. I know this may seem a bit depressive, but I don’t see it that way, I just know we don’t live for ever…
- My son and my husband, I scrap them the most.
- My sons first… everything!!!
- Great times with my family and my friends. Moments I want to capture.
- My cat
- Great photos, old as new
- Pretty pattern paper
- Scrapbook Magazines , t.ex. Scrapbook Inspiration
- A ticket, candywrapper, concert program…

Aspiration:
- To be a good mother to my son, and give him a good childhood. To give and learn him what I believe to be the right values and keep him safe from harm.
- To be a good wife
- To be a good friend
- To fix up our house
- To be a good nurse, and keep up to date in medicine and research.
- To keep up with all my crafting ideas, and actually make some cards and LOs, not just plan them (which I’m extremely good at *LOL*)
- To get in a better shape, and get into habit of a daily walk

Gratulerer med dagen til… MEG! :-)

Og et kort fra mine never p to og fire, s utrolig stt!

Happy bithday to. ME! :-)
Yesterday was spent at home with my family. My sister came home with her boys, and we had our little man, a day of noise, but so nice. :-)
Thought Id post some photos, of the cake, and of a gorgeous card my Mum made for me, it just made me laugh! :-)
And a card from my nephews, aged 2 and 4, just love it!

Baksiden: "Hndlaget av Mamma, for (Broder'n) stakk av... *LOL*

How do you prefer the pace of life?

Today’s blog prompt from Shimelle: How do you prefer the pace of life? Do you wish things would speed up or slow down? Illustrate with something that has been on your mind or on your calendar or share your preference between working slowly or quickly on a crafting project.

Life is moving to fast for me! Way to fast! Days just seem to fly by and I get nothing done. (how people manage more than one child is over my head) But still I love it, it’s my life, it’s the life I’ve chosen. I’m together with my husband and my son, live near my family and have few but good and dear friends. I have a steady job, a house, a car and even a cute cat. To quote Lise Myhre: “I would be stupid if I wasn’t happy!”
The only ting I lack is time, time for my scrapbooking and cardmaking projects and for fixing up our house.

This is MY TIME

So Ive finished my first layout for Shimelle Laines My freedom class. A bit confused yesterday, and not the pace I thought it would be, but at least Im done with one. Its actually the first double spread Ive ever made, and I do like the colours of this one, they make me happy, and make me think of summer. (Which I think appropriate for a summer class :-)
Now, Ill just make myself a new cup of tea, and go back to my scrapbook stash
(btw: the title reads "This is MY TIME", and the text is about how my life has been the last 10 years and how it is today. It's all in Norwegian, though...)

Im also going to make my own bonus page on this one. I got so many ideas, and want to use some of them for my sons album, showing photos one year apart, starting with pictures of my pregnancy test and ultrasound, should be fun! :-)

First attempt...

So, here's my first attempt at this weeks assignment in "My freedom" Nothing's glued yet, but at least it's a start... :-)

Dikt, faktisk...

"Today’s blog prompt: Have you ever been inspired by the words of a poem?
Share the poem with your blog readers and tell them how you came to value its
words."

This wasn't easy, I had to think about this one before one came to mind. For a time I collected poems I liked, but inspired? Not really.
I found this poem in one of my textbook while reading for my nurse degree. I really like this poem, it's a good reminder of what's important in life, not to mention the wisdom of life, and life lived.

If I had my life to live over
Nadine Stair,85 years old.

I'd dare to make more mistakes next time.
I'd relax, I would limber up.
I would be sillier than I have been this trip.
I would take fewer things seriously.
I would take more chances.

I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers.
I would eat more ice cream and less beans.
I would perhaps have more actual troubles,
but I'd have fewer imaginary ones.

You see, I'm one of those people who live
sensibly and sanely hour after hour,
day after day.

Oh, I've had my moments,
And if I had it to do over again,
I'd have more of them.
In fact, I'd try to have nothing else.
Just moments, one after another,
instead of living so many years ahead of each day.

I've been one of those people who never goes anywhere
without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat
and a parachute.
If I had to do it again, I would travel lighter than I have.
If I had my life to live over,
I would start barefoot earlier in the spring
and stay that way later in the fall.
I would go to more dances.
I would ride more merry-go-rounds.
I would pick more daisies.

Noen av mine kort...

P tide legge ut noen av mine siste kort her. I det siste har jeg lekt med distressputer. Ettersom jeg bare har to, blir det litt monotont i farger, s utfordringen blir variere allikevel. Disse er raskere lage enn de jeg pleier lage, og det er morsomt med litt variasjon... :-)

Time to post some of my latest cards. Lately I've been playing around with my distress-pads. Since I've so far just got two, it's not too much variation in colours, the challenge is to still make different cards. These are much faster to make than the one I use to, I enjoy the variation... :-)

What’s in your suitcase?

In Shimelle Laines "My Freedom" online class“ I've just got today’s blog prompt:
Play a game of ‘What’s in
your suitcase?’ on your blog by listing your
necessities for travel, then ask your blog readers to
comment with their own list. You can include
pictures or links for items you consider musthaves.”

I’ve already done this, it’s my packinglist for an upcoming holiday, lasting a week. (This is just my suitcase, I’ll also have to pack one for my son, my husband have to pack his own):
Just to clear things up, we'll drive to my parents summerhouse, and I'll try to keep my stash to a minimum (yeah, right! *LOL*) I've aslo planned a visit to the nearest craftstore to stack up whilst there.

Cellphone and charger
Camera with charger and pc-cables
Notebook
A selection of pens
Scrapping supplies (t.ex. papers, trimmers, adhesive, ink, flowers, brads, ribbons, QK alphabets, journalingstamps)
Laptop
Strawberry tea
Cookies

T-shirts
Jeans
Skirts
Underwear
Socks
Sneakers
Slippers
Soap, shampoo etc…
Toothbrush, toothpaste
Some jewelry
Sunblock
Hairbrush
Fleece jacket
A small “pharmacy” (bandaid, bandages, painkillers, mosquito repellent etc )
Disinfectiv wipes
Nail file and handlotion

(When going on our honeymoon, I hadn’t time to pack my suitcase. We got married on a Saturday, and my husband had booked a flight 8 am next morning! I did get about an hour sleep that night, and just threw some clothes into my suitcase before we left for the airport. I arrived in Venice, 34°C in the shadows, with 2 pair of jeans, 4 t-shirts, one long skirt and a complete travellers pharmacy! *LOL* So the first couple of days, we went shopping… :-) )
