What is your earliest clear memory?Pulling out all the clothes of my closet and hiding in there with my sister along with all the teddybears and pillows we could find. (My brother was experimenting with explosives in the next room, and we figured out that if everything was blown to smithereens, we would just fly to the moon, safe in our closet….)
What three things seem to take most of your time?1. My son! And I love it! Seeing him smile, hearing him laugh, see how much and how fast he develops, enjoying his wonderful personality.
2. My dear husband
3. Hobbies (Scrapbooking & cardmaking)
If you had one day with no obligations, what would you do with the time?Spend more time with family and friends, and make some of the scrapbook LOs I’ve got in my head, and on paper…
Imagine childhood you at an age that felt as happy and carefree as you remember. What would she do with a day of free time?
Summertime, at our cabin at the lake, playing with her sister, swimming in the lake, running in the woods, gathering berries and mushrooms with her mother. Sitting indoors with a large cup of steaming hot chocolate with cream, fireplace crackling, listening to the rain hit the roof and the thunder rolling.
How much do you rely on a schedule? Do you wear a watch?Sometimes too much, other times not at all…I’m good at making schedules, list and plans. Not to good at following them to the letter…
Yes, I wear a watch at eh moment, I’ve just put it back on again. but I have not for 6 months since my son was born, hygienic reasons…
What is your favourite time of day?
Night! I’m truly a nightperson!
Is there a day of the week or a time of year that you find particularly lovely?
Spring! Love the smell of wet, warm soil, life beginning again, birds coming back from the south, the warm breeze of spring with promises of life, joy, summer and a new beginning!
I love the change in the season. The fact that they change makes me enjoy them even more when they do. I enjoy the first smell of frost, the smell of fireplaces. I love the beautiful colours of the fall and the icy cold beauty of the winter. I’m not to keen on summers, though. I don’t like the warm weather to much. (When I was pregnant I was lucky, got a rainy summer. My mother-in-law almost cried because of all the rain, I danced my raindances in the living room… *LOL*)
What hour of the week would you skip, given the choice?Every hour of the day when I must get up! I hate early mornings!
Think back to a time before your most recent milestone in life -- changing jobs, getting married, the arrival of a child or grandchild, retirement, etc. How was your day different then compared to now?
A year ago, pregnant with my son.
Tired, sleeping a lot, but feeling good. Enjoying all his kicks, knowing it means he’s well.
Today I’m with him almost all the time, everything revolves around him, naturally. Last year this time he was just “a little shrimp”, This year he’s a beautiful, active, smiling, playful little boy. I’ve actually made this adorable creature myself! (OK, It takes two to tango, but I dare say I’ve done most f the job!) It’s the greatest miracle of life!
An innocent and wide-eyed young girl comes to you for advice. She asks how you make time for important things. What do you tell her?
Make time for family and friends, not work. The important thing is not material, but what’s inside you. Memories, feelings, emotions, love. Fill you life with love, gather friends, not things. But don’t gather friends in numbers; gather friends in your heart. It doesn’t matter how many friends you’ve got, it matters how good friends they are.
